It is official. The presentation by Mahesh Bhatt and Anand Pandit, Haunted 3D Ghosts Of The Past has unveiled its official trailer in cinemas alongside James Cameron’s Avatar Fire And Ash. Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the horror film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on February 6, 2026. This announcement follows a postponement from its original release date of November 21, 2025.
The official trailer is now showing in cinemas alongside Avatar Fire And Ash, which released on December 19. This strategic release ensures that the horror film gets maximum visibility on the big screen before a wide theatrical audience. The 3D format promises to deliver scares in the most immersive way possible.
The Reason Behind The Delay
The delay from the original November 2025 release date was attributed to a personal tragedy. Vikram Bhatt’s mother had been unwell since the start of the year and sadly passed away in September. This loss understandably impacted the filmmaker’s ability to complete the film on schedule.
Last month, just a week prior to the original release date, Vikram Bhatt confirmed the delay during an interview. He reflected on the loss of his mother, noting that her passing hindered him from completing the amount of VFX work needed for the film. He explained that they created numerous VFX plates for the background, but they did not appear realistic enough. Therefore, the team went out and filmed additional scenes for 10 to 12 days to ensure the quality met their standards.

The film is a sequel to the 2011 horror film Haunted 3D, which made headlines as India’s first stereoscopic 3D horror film. The original starred Mimoh Chakraborty and Tia Bajpai in lead roles. Vikram Bhatt returns as director for the sequel, keeping his horror filmmaking streak alive. The filmmaker has built his career making successful horror films including the 1920 franchise and Raaz.
Vikram Bhatt’s Horror Legacy
