Six contenders to become a final threepublished at 17:12 GMT
This year on Sports Personality of the Year, we’re doing things a little bit differently.
Tonight, when the vote opens, you will be able to vote for one of our six contenders for the main award. No changes there.
But, after we’ve heard from all six nominees, we’re going to freeze the vote and reveal which three contenders are at the top of the voting – in no particular order.
We’ll then reopen the vote one last time between the top three contenders.
All the votes cast up to that point will be carried over, and you’ll be able to vote again to crown one of the top three contenders as your winner for 2025.
