Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed, brother of President Sheikh Khalifa, dies

Tributes have been paid to Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative, who died on Monday.

President Sheikh Khalifa announced the death of his brother in a statement carried by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, which said the country would observe three days of official mourning, including the lowering of the flags, beginning on Monday.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, offered his condolences to the Al Nahyan family and the people of the UAE.

“Zayed’s sons have eternal fingerprints in the UAE,” Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter.

“Zayed’s sons have a different love in the heart of every Emirati. Zayed’s sons are partners in the foundation who time will never forget. May God have mercy on Sheikh Sultan.”
