The Sharjah Judicial Council has launched a new digital judicial system designed to streamline procedures and improve access to legal services across the emirate.
Announced on 11 January, the Sharjah Judiciary Platform, available at www.sjd.ae, brings together the services of the courts, the Department of Justice and the Public Prosecution within a single digital interface. The initiative forms part of the Council’s wider efforts to build a comprehensive digital judicial environment and support the digital transformation of the justice sector.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the platform aims to provide users with secure and modern access to judicial and legal services, enabling transactions to be completed remotely and reducing the need for in-person visits to judicial entities.
New platform streamlines judicial services
The Sharjah Judicial Council said the platform reflects its vision of establishing an efficient, transparent and accessible judicial system that serves all members of society. By allowing clients to complete procedures online, the system is intended to save time and effort for litigants and service users, while improving the overall quality of judicial services.
The first phase of the platform’s rollout includes specialised digital service packages covering civil, commercial, labour, personal status and enforcement cases. It also includes Public Prosecution services focused on the management and follow-up of criminal cases.
In addition, the platform provides notary public services, including legal documentation, acknowledgements, power of attorney procedures and notarisation services for individuals and institutions involved in notarisation transactions.
The Council said work will continue to expand the platform’s capabilities in the coming period, with plans to introduce additional service packages and gradually integrate artificial intelligence-powered services. These enhancements are intended to deliver a more advanced and efficient digital judicial experience in line with international best practices.
Sheikh Faisal bin Ali Al Mualla, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Judicial Council, said the platform will help accelerate judicial procedures. He noted that the system will save time and effort for litigants and clients while enhancing service quality, and aligns with Sharjah’s vision of developing an integrated digital judiciary that supports digital justice and improves access to legal services across the emirate.
The launch marks a key step in modernising Sharjah’s judicial services and strengthening confidence in a digitally enabled justice system.
