Rotana Hotels & Resorts and investment company SKH Family Office have formed a partnership focused on The Cove Rotana Resort in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Rasmala Investment Bank acted as financial adviser for the transaction.
As part of the partnership, SKH Family Office revealed Dh500m ($136.1m) investment to purchase the property and redevelop it. The upgrades cover the resort’s villas, guest rooms, dining venues, and recreational facilities.
Plans also include architectural enhancements and new tower developments with sea views, along with a focus on implementing advanced sustainability practices.
Rotana will retake over management and operations for an additional 15 years starting from next month. The company will also be directly responsible for the resort’s daily operations, commercial activities, and guest services throughout the redevelopment period.
Rotana CEO Philip Barnes said: “The Cove Rotana Resort has long been one of our most beloved properties, and we are proud to lead it into this exciting new chapter. Working alongside SKH Private Family Office, we’re combining vision with experience to shape a resort that truly reflects the spirit of Ras Al Khaimah and the Rotana brand.
“This partnership is about more than management—it’s about delivering the best possible experience for our guests and ensuring every stay reflects the warmth, quality, and care that define Rotana.”
This development supports Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism strategy and aligns with broader national objectives related to sustainable tourism.
In 2024, Ras Al Khaimah reported more than 1.3 million visitors and aims to reach 3.5 million arrivals by 2030.
The redevelopment of The Cove Rotana Resort is positioned to contribute to the region’s tourism targets and reflects ongoing confidence in the United Arab Emirates’ hospitality sector.
SKH Private Family Office founder and chairman Saqr Kamal Hasan said: “The signing of our management agreement with Rotana reflects a shared commitment to excellence, sustainability, and regional authenticity.
“The transformation of The Cove Rotana Resort represents our ambition to deliver world-class guest experience in alignment with the United Arab Emirates’ vision for responsible investment and tourism leadership.”
“Rotana to reassume management of The Cove Resort in Ras Al Khaimah” was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
