Kuwait Meteorological Department warns of rain, dust, and frost from Tuesday through Friday.
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12: The Meteorological Department has forecast scattered rain, dust-raising winds, and frost across Kuwait from Tuesday through next Friday.
Acting Director Dharar Al-Ali told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday that weather maps and numerical models show the country will be affected starting Tuesday morning by a low-pressure system accompanied by a relatively warm and humid air mass, bringing scattered rain and active southeasterly winds that may occasionally stir up dust.
He added that temperatures will rise slightly until Tuesday evening, before a high-pressure system arrives Tuesday night with a cold and dry air mass. Northwesterly winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally reaching 15 to 50 kilometers per hour, causing dust and sea waves over six feet.
Al-Ali said temperatures will drop noticeably from Wednesday through next Friday, with a chance of frost in agricultural and desert areas. Maximum temperatures during this period will range between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are expected between 4 and 11 degrees Celsius, resulting in mild to cool days and cold to very cold nights.
