Officina39, an Italian chemical specialist offering various sustainable solutions for the fashion and jeans industry, has just launched its most transformative innovation–ZeroPP|All.In, during last Kingpins Amsterdam.
The new agent is a one-product-only system that allows brands and laundries to permanently eliminate potassium permanganate (PP), a toxic chemical still widely used in denim finishing for vintage effects.
The new solution can make a true difference as it is applied directly on raw garments, enabling the finishing process–from laser marking to dry ozone treatment, without rinsing steps, while using the same washing and treating machines.
Its use streamlines production, reduces water and energy use, and improves safety and transparency. While it removes a harmful substance from the value chain, the new agent redefines the process itself, making this sustainable choice also efficient one and practically neutral cost or less expensive than PP.
