News anchor Katy Tur has weighed in on President Trump’s health after a New York Times report analyzed concerns about his cognitive and physical decline, with pundits eagerly discussing the state of his condition.
News anchor Katy Tur agreed that President Donald Trump seems to be “slowing down” after a damning New York Times article examined his age-related health struggles.
The prestigious publication released an analysis earlier this week examining how Trump, 79, has reduced his activities amid growing concerns about his mental acuity and physical condition in his second term compared to his first. This comes as the oldest president in American history faces increasing questions about his cognitive and physical decline, reports the Mirror US.
Since the NYT article came out, commentators have been quick to share their thoughts on Trump’s current health status. Among the most prominent voices are Katy Tur, an anchor at MSNBC, formerly at MS Now, and Joanna Coles, an executive at The Daily Beast.

“You can see [Trump ‘slowing down’],” Tur told Coles during a podcast discussion. “You could see it during the campaign, even. … He doesn’t have the same amount of energy. He’s not as coherent as he used to be.
“He’s always been not entirely coherent, but it’s different now. He’s slower, his speech is slower, you can see him falling asleep sometimes,” she added. “He’s different. He’s 79 years old, about to be 80; anybody at that age is going to start slowing down.”
Coles replied, “They are things that if you saw them in a relative, you would be concerned.”
Trump, a vocal critic of the New York Times who has launched multiple lawsuits against the publication seeking billions in damages, rejected the report and unleashed personal attacks on the newspaper, branding it “THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE” and its “ugly” co-author in an extended Truth Social tirade. The Times issued a statement defending its journalism in response to Trump’s post.
“The Creeps at the Failing New York Times are at it again,” Trump wrote, proceeding to catalog his achievements. “Yet despite all of this the Radical Left Lunatics in the soon to fold New York Times did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite. They know this is wrong, as is almost every thing that they write about me, including election results, ALL PURPOSELY NEGATIVE.”
The Times’ investigation revealed that Trump has significantly reduced his public appearances by 40% during his second term.
Tur proceeded to highlight how the Times’ findings came amid growing online discussion regarding Trump’s apparent mental and physical deterioration.
She noted that questions about “cognitive abilities” emerged as he progressively “slurs his words” and his remarks became “even less sense.”
Likewise, questions arose about his physical condition after troubling photographs surfaced showing bruises on his hand, swollen ankles and dragging of legs. Earlier this year, the White House had to address concerns about Biden’s health.
They said it was due to a harmless condition called chronic venous insufficiency and his daily aspirin routine.
