Key Insights: The Most Prolific 20 Consecutive Innings Ever in T20Is
The Top Three
Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan leads the run charts, having aggregated a whopping 1062 runs between his innings number 17 and 36th. In this phase, the star batter was in sensational form as he notched up 11 fifty-plus scores in just 20 innings, and this includes the only T20I century (104*) he made against South Africa back in 2021. This phase also saw him batting a strike rate of 138.82, which is significantly higher than his overall career strike rate of 125.38.
The next most prolific batter in a 20-inning sequence in T20I cricket is Virat Kohli. The former India skipper had scored 1018 runs between 2014 and 2016, where he featured in two T20 World Cups. In the 2014 edition, Virat was the highest run-getter with 319 runs and stood second in the 2016 tourney, hammering 273 runs.
The only other player to cross the 1000-run mark is Karanbir Singh, who for Austria made 1017 in between his 15th and 34th innings for his country. His 15 50+ scores in 2025 is also the most number of fifty-plus scores any batter has accumulated in a calendar year in the shortest format.
Consistency: Batters Exceeding the 800-Run Mark
A total of 25 batters have scored 800 or more runs in 20 successive T20I innings. Beyond the top 10, these 15 batters have crossed the mark and joined several leading T20I batters such as Suryakumar Yadav, Babar Azam, etc, among others. They are:

Virat Kohli’s average of 92.55 is the highest for batters with at least 800 runs in a sequence of 20 successive T20I innings.
The player with the next best T20I average in 20 successive innings is the Pakistan keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan. Though he leads the runs tally, Rizwan’s average is 88.50, which is slightly less than that of Kohli’s.
Apart from them, five other batters have an average of 60 or more in 20 consecutive T20I innings. They are Suryakumar Yadav (61.27), Jos Buttler (66.38), David Warner (71.42), and Muhammad Tanveer (69.17).
Highest Batting Strike Rates in 20 Consecutive Innings (Minimum of 800 runs)
When we talk about the best strike rate in a successive sequence of 20 T20I innings, having achieved at least 800 runs, Abhishek Sharma’s figures of 195.23 stand out. He made 859 runs in this phase at an average of 45.21.
Spain’s Mohammad Ihsan’s strike rate of 178.73 is the second best among the list of 25 batters, and he has scored 815 runs at an average of just under 51. He made just one half-century in this phase.
The other players who batted with a strike rate of more than 165 are: Karanbir Singh (176.26), Suryakumar Yadav (168.32), Aaron Finch (168.35), Collin Munro (172.48), and Phil Salt (169.56).
Most Fifties in 20 Consecutive T20I Innings (Minimum 800 runs)
While Rizwan leads the run tally, Virat Kohli has scored the most fifties in 20 consecutive T20Is. The Indian batter had piled up 12 half-centuries in his golden phase in the shortest format.
The next best is Rizwan, who hammered 10 half-centuries in his 20 outings.
