Manifattura Italiana Cucirini (MIC), an Italian company specializing in the production of threads for the clothing industry, participated in a lecture as a guest lecturer at the Jean School in Amsterdam.
This institute is known for being the first and only school entirely dedicated to the development of denim fabric and jeans. Founded in collaboration with ROCvA, the Jean School offers a three-year course recognized by the Dutch government and actively supported by the international jeans industry.
During this special lecture, MIC presented its innovative yarn solutions to students, with a focus on specific applications for the denim sector.
Jean School has already been collaborating with MIC for a long time, and its students appreciate its sewing threads for the extra quality, performance, and versatility they can add to denim.
The collaboration between MIC and the Jean School is a virtuous example of the connection between education and industry, where the sharing of know-how helps train new generations of professionals in the sector.
Mariette Hoitink and James Veenhof, well-known and recognized actors in the international denim scene, lead the lesson, extending further their long-time existing collaboration with MIC while strengthening their commitment to innovation and sustainability, in line with MIC’s vision.
This initiative helped reinforce the already close connection between MIC and the Jean School and represents a new chapter in the dialogue between education and industry, where innovation arises from the meeting of shared skills, visions, and passions.

“We are proud to bring our experience to the Jean School in Amsterdam, an international benchmark for training in the world of denim. Sharing our know-how with the new generation of professionals is a valuable opportunity for us, strengthening the link between industry and training,” commented Nicola Carletti, marketing manager, MIC, at the end of the lecture.
“MIC threads, already an integral part of the school’s curriculum, represents the company’s ongoing commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability, values that we share with partners of excellence such as Mariette Hoitink and James Veenhof,” he added.
