KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29 (KUNA): Kuwait defeated Japan 33–32 on Thursday to secure third place at the 22nd Asian Handball Championship.
Kuwaiti took control in the first half, opening a 19–16 lead with a display of pace, discipline, and sharp concentration.
Japan mounted a strong comeback for much of the second half, applying sustained pressure, but Kuwait responded with determination and resilience. A strong fighting spirit in the closing stages allowed Kuwait to hold on for a narrow 33–32 victory, sealing the bronze-medal finish.
