Kelly Clarkson is giving an update about her two kids following their dad’s tragic death.
Five months after Brandon Blackstock passed away from a secret battle with cancer, the 43-year-old singer opened up about how her 11-year-old daughter River and 9-year-old son Remington are doing. It went down during a Q&A session released on the official Kelly Clarkson Show YouTube channel on Saturday. When a fan asked her to share one thing she does every day that brings her joy, she first offered up a one-word response: “Snuggle.” Aww! How cute!

Kelly went on to share that she is getting all the “snuggles” with her young children while she can:
“My kids, they’re 9 and 11. Kind of that special little fun stage where they can wipe their own behinds, but they’re still small enough to, like, love cuddling and love snuggles.”
The American Idol alum also noted River and Remington have been sleeping in her bed more often recently due to Brandon’s death. And although it is a bit crowded these days, she wouldn’t have it any other way:
“There’s been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit. It’s my two dogs, my two kids and me. It’s a lot. It’s been really special, though, because… the conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that’s probably my favorite time of day.”
Oof! Losing a dad so young is so hard! We understand why the pair is seeking more comfort from their momma than usual! Watch Kelly’s entire Q&A (below):
