STILLWATER, OK — Kansas State basketball is in a lot of trouble.
Losers of their first four Big 12 games, the Wildcats could calm the storm with a win over Oklahoma State at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
K-State (9-8, 0-4 Big 12) is one of two teams that remain winless in league play, matching Utah, when the two meet on Jan. 20 in Manhattan. The Wildcats haven’t won since they struggled to put away Louisiana Monroe on Dec. 28, which capped off a four-game winning streak. They haven’t been the same since.
Oklahoma State (13-4, 1-3 Big 12) is enjoying a hot start under second-year coach Steve Lutz, but has lost its last two. The Cowboys were blown out at home by Baylor, 94-79, on Jan. 13, following a 12-point loss at No. 2 Iowa State. Lutz posted a statement to Cowboy students on X following the loss to Baylor that they deserved better than the performance they gave.
The Cowboys have five players averaging double figures, with Anthony Roy leading the team with 17.6 points per game.
