The Celtics fell 119-113 to the Pistons in Detroit on Sunday afternoon and are still searching for their first win of the 2025-26 season. Boston led by as many as 17 points in the first quarter, but the Pistons racked up 70 points between the second and third quarters, then held off a late Celtics charge to secure the victory.
Jaylen Brown (41 points) was excellent for the C’s in this one, but Boston once again had major issues in the rebounding department, allowing 18 offensive rebounds and 30 second-chance points to Detroit. Jalen Duren (24 points and 17 rebounds, including seven offensive) was a menace for the Pistons, while Cade Cunningham added a team-high 25 points with eight assists.
