Jason Donovan has shared new details about former love Kylie Minogue and addressed how the ongoing interest in the relationship affects his wife, Angela Malloch.
Donovan, 57, was appearing on the Great Company with Jamie Laing podcast when attention turned to Minogue, whom he dated for four years.
The two met in 1986 on the set of Aussie soap Neighbours, which made them both household names.

Minogue played feisty mechanic Charlene Mitchell from 1986 to 1988, when she left the show to pursue her then-burgeoning music career.
Her character’s love affair with Scott Robinson – played by Donovan – was a major storyline for the show, and culminated in their wedding in 1987.
In a case of life imitating art, the two started dated soon after meeting on set and their relationship continued until 1989.

During that time, they became one of the most high-profile young couples in Australia and the UK, where the show was also popular.
They each enjoyed successful music careers, and released the duet, Especially for You, before eventually splitting in 1989.
Minogue went on to date INXS frontman Michael Hutchence until 1992.
When asked on the podcast if he was ‘in love’ with Minogue, Donovan replied, “I think so, yeah”.
“Our connection and what we shared was on another level.”
Donovan also talked about Minogue’s meteroic rise to fame from actress to popstar.
“With Kylie, she sharted out as this sort of rough mechanic on Neighbours, sort of a tomboy-like character, and sort of blossomed, you know,” he said.
“It was phenomenal to watch.”
He said after the release of her first single, The Loco-motion in 1987, her music career took off, which changed the dynamic of their relationship.
“[At first] it was probably more her chasing me and then I think it sort of flipped a little bit [after that],” he said.
Donovan said after four years of “art imitating life”, when their relationship was “owned by the world” they split up, which he said “was tough”.
Donovan said despite splitting up more than 30 years ago, interest in the relationship had continued to follow him “for the rest of your life”.

“Every time I get into a cab now it’s, ‘How’s Kylie?'”
Donovan said it had been particularly hard on his wife Angela Malloch.
The two met in 1998 and welcomed three children together before marrying in 2008.
“I think initially, it was pretty hard. I hope she doesnt mind me saying that,” he said.
“All they talk about is ‘the wedding’ and yet, ‘Hold on a second, I [have] spent 30 years with this man’. You know, that gets pushed in your face all the time.
“[But] we’re 25 years in… and that says it all to me.
“And you know, she is my best friend and the love of my life.”
