After Friday’s 11-4 rout of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Schneider revealed that Game 1 hero Addison Barger — who smashed the first pinch-hit home run in World Series history — had slept on his pull-out couch at the hotel inside Rogers Centre the night prior.
Sticking with a winning formula, Barger returned to that very couch on Friday night, per Schneider’s sister, Madeline.
Luckily for Barger, the sleeping arrangement is not in danger of becoming a superstition as the series moves to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for Game 3 on Monday.
Barger originally began sleeping at Schneider’s place when he was displaced from his own apartment with family in town for the World Series.
Not that the first go-round was particularly comfortable — Schneider said he hard squeaking from the bed throughout the night as a restless Barger struggled for shut-eye.
The Blue Jays were woken up promptly at 9 a.m. when stadium workers began practising introductions, too.
Schneider said his parents joked after the game that Barger needed to sleep on his couch again, but at the time he said the 25-year-old had made other arrangements.

But baseball players are nothing if not superstitious. Barger himself refused an honorary shirt from FOX analyst David Ortiz after the game because it featured a picture of the ex-slugger in a Boston Red Sox uniform.
The only thing left to wonder now is whether the magic pull-out will work twice.
The Blue Jays lead the World Series 1-0.
