Geely Emgrand Safety Recall
The recall targets Emgrand sedans manufactured between 3 August 2023 and 4 July 2024. A total of 5,584 vehicles are affected across the UAE.
What is the Issue?
Geely has identified a potential concern with the fuel filler cap, which is non-vented in the affected models. Over extended periods of driving, this can create vacuum pressure inside the fuel system. In rare and extreme cases, the pressure difference may cause slight deformation of the fuel tank, potentially bringing it into contact with the fuel pump plunger and creating a risk of fuel leakage.
While the likelihood of this occurring is low, Geely and AGMC are taking proactive steps to ensure complete customer safety.
