A new, Formula E Gen3 racecar has just been unveiled. The new racer will compete in the 2026/7 FIA Formula E World Championship. Unfortunately, SA fans are unlikely to see the new car compete on local soil as the series has already announced its calendar, with no stop planned for the African continent.
Gen4 is the most advanced Formula E single-seater to-date, with cutting-edge technology making it the fastest and most powerful electric racing car fans will ever have seen. With drivers able to deploy more than 815hp (600 kW) in Attack Mode as well as permanent all-wheel-drive, enhanced aerodynamics and greater grip levels from bigger tyres, Gen4 slots in at the sharp end of the FIA’s single-seater pyramid and will be one of the highest performance racing cars anywhere in the world

As a result the newest car is also the fastest of all time. In addition, the Formula E Gen4 features active all-wheel drive in every phase of the race. The new car has enhanced 700 kW of regenerative braking power, and race energy capacity up to 55 kWh. All these figures represent a significant jump over the Gen3 Evo.
