Pista di Fiorano is well known to most petrolheads as Ferrari’s very own test track. The Italian automaker has now added the e-Vortex Test Track to the existing facility. The new test circuit has been completed in less than four months. The main aim of the e-Vortex Test Track is to be able to evaluate and test sportscars in a controlled environment.

Scientific Method
e-Vortex is approximately two kilometres long and covers 37 000 square metres. There are various sectors: two wide curves with banking and longitudinal slope. In addition there is a central straight, and handling curves dedicated to the study of dynamic behaviour. As a result it allows for precise and repeatable testing. Furthermore there are various road surfaces to tune upcoming models for comfort and performance.
The aim of creating e-Vortex is to take evaluation off the road and transfer it to the track. This will certainly cut down on the number of camouflaged, upcoming models being spied as they leave the gates of the factory in Maranello.
