NEWPORT NEWS — Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 664 that shut down all northbound lanes near the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel Friday afternoon.
The four-vehicle crash happened near Exit 3, according to state police.
A person died as a result of the crash, according to state police. Another person has been taken to a local hospital with injuries, though no other information has been released.
A detour is in place at the Roanoke Avenue exit (Exit 4), according to VDOT.
Expect delays and seek an alternative route if possible.
