The world’s largest international airline has announced that flights to a major city in Africa are cancelled.
In a travel update on the Emirates website, issued on Sunday November 2, the airline revealed that flights to and from Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania will be cancelled until at least Tuesday November 4.
The cancellations are due to ongoing civil unrest in Tanzania’s largest city.
Any passengers connecting with Emirates through Dubai International Airport with a final destination of Dar Es Salaam will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin until further notice.
While the flight cancellations currently only affect travel until Tuesday November 4, Emirates is continuing to monitor the situation closely.
However, flydubai’s 21-times-weekly route to Zanzibar, a popular island destination in Tanzania, has not been affected and will continue to operate as normal.
