Changsha – November 11, 2025 – The Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference between China’s Hunan Province and Morocco was organized by the Hunan Commerce Department and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in China, with the attendance of approximately 150 representatives from Moroccan and Chinese companies, where effective promotion took place for the China-Africa Expo 2026 scheduled to be held in Morocco next June.
Organization and Wide Participation Strengthen Bilateral Partnership
The conference was held in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, with support from the Office of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Committee. More than 90 companies from Hunan and 15 Moroccan companies participated, alongside representatives from the International Science and Technology Exchange Center in Hunan’s Xiangjiang New Area, the Moroccan National Industrial Technology Center, and the International Exchange Association in Brittany (France).
The activities focused on business matchmaking and exchanges between Chinese and Moroccan companies, with the signing of a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement between the Xiangjiang Center, the Moroccan Technology Center, and the Brittany Association, to enhance cooperation and integrate resources for Sino-Moroccan projects. Field visits were also arranged for Moroccan companies to companies such as Hongxing Industrial and Hongtaiyang Energy in Hunan.
Speakers’ Remarks: Call for Investment and Sustainable Cooperation
The Moroccan Ambassador to China, Abdelkader Ansari, delivered a speech confirming that the conference provides an effective and practical platform to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between Hunan and Morocco, expressing his hope to attract more Chinese investments to Africa, especially Morocco as a preferred destination.
For his part, Zhang Junping, Director of the Trade Services Center in Hunan, highlighted the role of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the China-Africa Economic Cooperation Zone in promoting comprehensive exchanges with African countries, calling on participants to engage in the 2026 expo in Morocco and support the construction of the zone.
Promotion of 2026 Expo: Step Toward Deeper Sino-African Cooperation
The conference witnessed intensive promotion of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo 2026, which will be held in Morocco in June, with an invitation for Chinese and Moroccan companies to participate actively, aiming to enhance high-quality economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa.
This conference comes in the context of strengthening the strategic partnership between Morocco and China, opening new horizons for joint investments and commercial exchange in the fields of technology, industry, and energy.
