The Princeton Grove apartments are reserved for income-qualifying residents who earn at or below 22, 30, or 60% of the area median income, with rents ranging from roughly $380 to $1,300 per month.

Mourning wants to give back to seniors in thanks to his foster mom, who was a senior when she took him in, and his former basketball coaches — both of whom are seniors who helped him get recruited.
“At some point, the ball stops bouncing, so what are you going to do with your life after that?” Mourning said. “You know, so, through relationships and business partnerships and what have you, I’ve been able to use this to make a difference in their honor.”

One resident, Michael Navarro, is one of the first few folks to move in. He said his new home is more than he could’ve asked for.
“It’s been a blessing,” said Navarro. “God has placed this building here.”
Navarro added that despite only having a few neighbors at the moment, he’s already felt a strong sense of community.
“I have had a chance to mingle with the neighbors, and we help each other out here. If we need anything, we work together and we get by,” Navarro said.
