A dog owner slapped a 54-year-old stranger, and then sicced the animal on the victim — severely injuring his hand — after a dispute inside the Union Square subway station in Manhattan, and Sunday night, cops released photos of the owner and dog, asking for the public’s help identifying them.
The victim and stranger got into an argument about his dog, who was wearing a muzzle, inside the Union Square subway station near 14th St. and University Place on Saturday around 5:20 p.m., according to police. The as-yet-unidentified man then slapped the victim across the face, and \removed the dog’s muzzle, ordering the dog to attack the victim, police said.
The dog bit the victim’s hand multiple times, and the dog and its owner then ran away and remain on the loose, cops said.
Medics transported the victim in stable condition to NYU Langone Tisch Hospital, where he was treated for lacerations on his left hand, according to cops.
