Allegra Edwards is going from one high-concept single-camera comedy to another. Edwards, who starred on Greg Daniels’ AI-themed futuristic series Upload, has been tapped as the female lead opposite Ed Weeks in CBS‘ vampire comedy pilot Eternally Yours, from Ghosts developers, executive producers and showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman and CBS Studios.
Her casting follows guest appearances by Edwards in Seasons 3 and 4 of CBS’ Ghosts, which also is produced by CBS Studios.
Written by Port and Wiseman, Eternally Yours is an eternal love story about two vampires, Liz (Edwards) and Charles (Weeks), who have been married for five hundred years, and their struggles to accept the human who is dating their daughter.
In addition to Weeks, Edwards joins previously cast Jaren Lewison as Max, the human dating Liz and Charles’ daughter.
Intelligent and worldly, Liz is a wife, mother, history professor… and vampire since 1526 AD. Liz and Charles, whose love was the stuff of romance novels, are now stuck in the fifth century of a mundane, interminable marriage. Unlike her stuck-in-his-ways husband, Liz wants to grow and change with the times, and she’ll do whatever it takes to drag Charles into the 21st century.
Port and Wiseman executive produce alongside Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang. CBS Studios is the studio.
Edwards played one of the leads, Ingrid, in Upload, which recently ended its four-season run on Prime Video. She recently wrapped production on the independent film Nothing Will Come Of Nothing and will guest star in Season 2 of Bad Thoughts with Tom Segura for Netflix. Edwards, who also voiced Willow, Bobby’s vegan girlfriend, in the King of the Hill revival, is repped by Innovative Artists Entertainment and OPE Partners.
