Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams is back and ready for whatever Nevermore Academy and Jericho, Vermont, throw at her in Season 2, Part 1 of which is now streaming on Netflix.
The first four episodes involve the pigtailed psychic student reacclimating to life at the school for Outcasts, which has seen a change in leadership after the death of Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie). Now Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi) has to step up and fill her shoes, and he has a different tactic for running Nevermore. Dort has a memorable scene set to Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark,” and that is just the beginning of classic needle drops that accompany both horrific and hilarious moments in the show like those of Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) in Episode 4.
