Bárbara Jankavski, a Brazilian influencer known on social media as “Boneca Desumana” — which roughly translates to “inhuman doll” — died on Nov. 2. She was 31.
Jankavski, who was commonly referred to online as “Human Barbie,” maintained followings of over 55,000 on Instagram and 344,000 on TikTok for sharing her cosmetic procedures, including a facelift she received in June.
According to a police report obtained by CNN Brasil, 51-year-old public defender Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto testified to authorities that he was with Jankaviski the night of her death after hiring her for “sexual services” and that they had both used illicit substances during their encounter.

When he noticed that Jankavski was not moving after she fell asleep, de Vitto told authorities he called the Mobile Emergency Care Service and tried to resuscitate her for nine minutes before doctors arrived at the scene and confirmed her death.
According to São Paulo State Military Police, per CNN Brasil, Jankavski’s body was discovered by authorities only wearing underwear and with an injury on her left eye and marks on her back.
CNN Brasil reported that a friend attributed Jankaviski’s facial injury to previously slipping and falling, according to the police report. The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat has requested autopsy and toxicology tests, and the case was registered as a suspect, the outlet also reported.
