MSC Cruises, a major cruise company and part of MSC Group, one of the largest private maritime and logistics conglomerates with over 300 years of history now operating from Geneva, has acquired the Italian sportswear and sailwear brand Slam from Vam Investments, an Italian private equity investor that had acquired it in June 2021.
The transaction reflects MSC’s commitment to investing in Italian quality, innovation, and know-how, identifying partners that are in line with its maritime DNA and strategies.
MSC’s global presence and international footprint will support Slam’s development and visibility, including in foreign markets, enabling the Italian brand to grow in the long term.
Slam is an iconic Italian brand founded in Genoa in 1979 and a leader in the sailing, yachting, and technical sportswear sectors.

Both companies share a deep passion for the sea, as well as the values of authenticity, innovation, and excellence rooted in their common maritime culture and tradition.
Slam will continue to focus and invest in its traditional activities while also developing a new professional division dedicated to the business-to-business sector, which will include the production of uniforms and clothing for the MSC group of companies.
This new objective will further enhance the technical expertise and design excellence developed by the Genoa-based company while preserving the brand’s identity, focus, and successful history in technical sportswear.
