We have some movie release news as First Capital Films, in association with Faith Channel, is pleased to announce that the heartfelt drama Learning You will be released in UK & Irish cinemas from 13th March.
When an architect embarks on a road trip with his autistic son, their journey of struggle and hope inspires a billionaire developer who has an autistic son of his own.

Learning You is a heartfelt dramedy inspired by true events, following Ty Smith, a struggling architect and father, as he embarks on an impulsive road trip with his autistic son, Elijah. Seven years after a traumatic family Christmas and the collapse of his marriage, Ty is faced with a choice: surrender Elijah to the state or fight for connection, healing, and hope. Along the way, Ty is haunted and hilariously helped by Elijah’s imaginary companion, a life-sized version of his beloved stuffed bear, Nook. What begins as a desperate act becomes a journey of rediscovery, reminding viewers that joy, like family, often shows up in unexpected places.
Filled with laughter, heartbreak, and hope, Learning You is a powerful story of a father learning to truly see his son—and himself—for the first time. From fluorescent hospital lights to the crashing waves of Myrtle Beach, this film serves to remind viewers that healing is messy, miracles can be small, and sometimes the best gifts come wrapped in unexpected journeys. Anchored by themes of neurodiversity, unconditional love, and second chances, it’s a story for anyone who’s ever felt lost—and dared to find their way home.

At the heart of the story is a cast led by newcomer Caleb Milby; Stacy Haiduk (Days Of Our Lives, The Young & the Restless, Homeland); Daniel Roebuck (Matlock, The Fugitive); Cameron Arnett (The Forge, Overcomer); John Wells (Wolfhound, Arena Wars); Al Snow (WWE Superstar); and Read Choi (social media influencer).

Learning You is produced and directed by Tyler Sansom, with a screenplay by J. Wayne Davidson, Justen Overlander (The Chosen), Sansom and Brad J. Silverman (Grace Unplugged).
Speaking on the making of the film, Producer/Director Tyler Sansom stated, “To all the incredible parents and caregivers of children with special needs — you are true heroes,” continuing, “Every day, you give love, patience, and strength in ways that often go unseen, but never unnoticed. The way you advocate, encourage, and celebrate every milestone is a powerful reminder of what unconditional love truly looks like. This is why we created Learning You to honour your journey, to shine a light on the beauty and challenges you walk through, and to remind you that you are not alone. Your story matters. Your child matters. And the love you give is changing the world.”
