The Algerian men’s 3×3 basketball team finished fourth in the Africa Cup, held from December 5 to 7, following their defeat in the classification match against Rwanda, 13–21, on Sunday in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
The “Greens” had previously been defeated in the semifinals by the host nation, Madagascar, 21–14, while Egypt won the other semifinal against Rwanda, 22–12.
The Algerian national team competed in Group A, finishing the preliminary round with victories over Seychelles (21–18) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (21–8), before eliminating Tunisia in the quarterfinals with a 21–11 win.
Madagascar claimed the continental title after narrowly defeating Egypt 21–20 in the final.
The continental federation had scheduled the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final for Sunday in the Malagasy capital.
