A 14-year-old Missouri boy is expected to be charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of another teen in Charleston.
Charleston Department of Public Safety Director Robert Hearnes told KFVS that the teen shot dead a 16-year-old in what investigators believe was an “accidental” shooting inside a home near the Old Charleston Train Depot on the west side of town.
The victim, another boy, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WSIL.
The 14-year-old was taken into custody and handed over to juvenile authorities.
The incident, which happened at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, is still under investigation, and no further information was released.
