KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30: A young Syrian expatriate’s weekend took a shocking turn when a routine day ended in financial panic. The 28-year-old woman rushed to the Jahra Police Station on Saturday, January 24, to report her bank card stolen — moments after receiving two back-to-back withdrawal alerts from her account.
According to her statement, the mysterious thief made two withdrawals — one for 5 dinars and another for 500 dinars — both without her knowledge, striking at exactly 3:00 p.m.
A security source revealed that the Public Prosecutor for Commercial Affairs was immediately notified and classified the case as forgery of bank documents. The Criminal Investigation Department has been assigned the mission to hunt down the suspect.
The case file, the source added, has been transferred to the Jahra Criminal Investigation Department, which is working closely with the victim’s bank to secure camera footage and biometric evidence that may lead to the culprit.
The source concluded with a stern warning: “Anyone who loses their bank card must act fast — inform your bank immediately to suspend the card and prevent thieves from taking advantage of the delay.”
