China Expresses Willingness to Work with US, Solve Outstanding Issues
Beijing, January 29 (QNA) – China stands ready to work with the United States to manage differences properly, advance cooperation, and maintain the stable, healthy and sustainable development of economic and trade relations, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce have said.
Based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit, China and the United States held five rounds of economic and trade consultations in 2025, which yielded a series of positive outcomes, the Ministry said.
This fully demonstrated that China and the United States can find ways to resolve issues through equal dialogue and consultation, it said.
Going forward, the Ministry said that following the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, China is willing to work with the United States to uphold and implement the important common understandings of the two heads of state, and make good use of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism.
In the same context, the ministry stressed that attempts to contain China are “doomed to failure,” just days after the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that it would prioritize deterring China this year while maintaining friendly bilateral relations.
It should be noted that relations between China and the United States have been strained over numerous issues, most notably their trade disputes, tariffs, as well as the security situation in the East China Sea and the Taiwan issue. (QNA)
