The summer of 2026 is shaping up to be a major box office showdown as two highly anticipated films gear up for an intense face-off at the ticket windows. Akshay Kumar‘s comedy extravaganza Welcome To The Jungle has locked June 26, 2026 as its theatrical release date, setting the stage for a dramatic clash with Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s action epic Dragon, which arrives in cinemas just a day earlier on June 25, 2026.

Produced by AA Nadiadwala and Star Studio18 in association with Cape of Good Films and Seeta Films, Welcome To The Jungle boasts an unprecedented ensemble cast of over 30 actors. The star-studded lineup includes Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Aftab Shivdasani, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Daler Mehndi, Farida Jalal, Krishna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, and many more veteran and contemporary stars.
Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s Dragon Set for June 25 Debut
Just 24 hours before Welcome To The Jungle opens, Jr NTR‘s much-awaited collaboration with director Prashanth Neel will make its theatrical debut. Dragon, tentatively titled and backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, was officially announced for June 25, 2026 release back in April 2025.

The epic action saga set in 1969 marks the first collaboration between the RRR superstar and the visionary filmmaker behind the blockbuster KGF franchise and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. The film features Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead, with supporting performances from Anil Kapoor and Tovino Thomas. The production, which commenced shooting in February 2025 at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, is being touted as Prashanth Neel’s most ambitious project to date.
A Week Before Dhamaal 4 Arrives
The comedy clash between Welcome To The Jungle and Dragon will have only a week to dominate the box office before Ajay Devgn‘s Dhamaal 4 enters the arena on July 3, 2026. The fourth installment in the popular comedy franchise, directed by Indra Kumar, was recently postponed for the second time to secure a clearer theatrical window.
With Welcome To The Jungle banking on nostalgia and multi-star appeal, and Dragon promising large-scale action and pan-India reach, the June 2026 box office battle is set to test audience preferences between mass comedy and high-octane action entertainment.
