Sweden is making adjustments to its Olympic roster.
Boston Bruins defenceman Hampus Lindholm and Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Johansson have been added to Sweden’s roster, the team announced on Tuesday.
Lindholm heads to Milan in place of Minnesota defenceman Jonas Brodin, who had surgery last week. Johansson replaces Anaheim Ducks centre Leo Carlsson, who had a thigh procedure on Jan. 16.
Both Lindholm and Johansson have represented Sweden internationally, with Johansson having been part of the 2014 Olympic team that won silver in Sochi.
In 39 games for the Bruins this season, Lindholm has three goals and 13 assists.
Johansson has 13 goals and 21 goals in 48 games for the Wild. He played his 1,000th NHL game earlier this season.
At 33 and 35 years old, respectively, Lindholm and Johansson bring a combined 1,832 NHL games-worth of experience to a Sweden squad loaded with veterans, including Erik Karlsson, Gabriel Landeskog and Mika Zibanejad.
Sweden kicks off the group stage vs. Italy on Feb. 11th.
