A launch and signing ceremony was held on Monday in Sana’a for the novel “After She Died” by writer Shatha Mansour al-Hadi.
During the event, Dr. Raseen al-Raseen, Arabic language professor at Sana’a University’s College of Media, and Ola Abdullah, head of Ru’ya Writers’ House, discussed the novel’s narrative, language, and its role in the cultural and literary scene.
They highlighted the novel’s focus on a critical social issue: how some parents’ harsh treatment of daughters, under the guise of protection, can lead to severe consequences, including the tragic choice of suicide depicted in the story.
Speakers praised al-Hadi’s literary talent and her ability to address societal concerns through creative writing. The author emphasized her aim to explore how young people sometimes choose the wrong paths to achieve their dreams and the importance of selecting the right path to succeed.
The ceremony celebrated al-Hadi’s work as a meaningful contribution to Yemen’s literary and cultural landscape, signaling the promise of future literary achievements.
