Genesis is recalling nearly 84,000 of its vehicles that have an issue with the infotainment and display screen, which completely turns off while driving. Models like the Genesis G80, Electrified G80, GV70, Electrified GV70, and lastly, GV80 models have been affected by the recall. All of these vehicles are ones manufactured between 2025 and 2026.
From the documents by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that are associated with the recall, the issue is due to a software logic that’s connected with the HD radio memory that leads to a glitch that may cause the infotainment screen and instrumental panel to reboot while the vehicle is in motion, thereby hiding important feedback and information.
During the time they filled for the recall, Genesis said it was not aware of any accident or injuries associated with the faulty screen, but it received more than 237 complaints related to the issue that were submitted between September 26, 2024, and January 2, 2026.
The Automaker began running remedy software on November 26, 2025. Customers affected by the issue are advised to disable the HD Radio feature in their vehicle until the remedy has been added on.
The automaker is set to update owners of affected vehicles via mail attached with instructions of how they will take their cars to the closest dealership for a technician to look and confirm, and if affected, he will update the software. Genesis plans to use over-the-air software updates for the vehicles that may be eligible for it.
