Brazilian winger Raphinha has been omitted from the squad for FC Barcelona’s LaLiga fixture this Sunday against Real Sociedad at Anoeta, as a precautionary measure due to a knock on his right leg.
Consequently, the Brazilian international was not named in the travelling party unveiled by FC Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick. However, there’s a boost with midfielder Frenkie de Jong returning to the squad after serving a suspension for the Copa del Rey round of 16 tie against Racing de Santander.
Long-term absentees Andreas Christensen and Pablo Paez Gavira ‘Gavi’ remain sidelined. Furthermore, promising attacking midfielder Pedro Fernandez ‘Dro’ is also unavailable, having already communicated his intent to depart Barca by activating his €6 million release clause.
The complete 21-man squad assembled by Flick for the forthcoming league encounter with Real Sociedad is as follows: Joan Garcia, Ter Stegen, Szczesny (goalkeepers); Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, Araujo, Gerard Martin, Balde, Kounde, Cancelo (defenders); Pedri, De Jong, Fermin Lopez, Casado, Olmo, Bernal (midfielders); Ferran Torres, Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, Rashford, and Roony Bardghji (forwards).
