On Saturday an official reception took place for the two Spanish Super Cup finalists, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, ahead of Sunday’s showdown.
The event was organised by the the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and took place at the Jeddah Marriott Hotel at 7.30pm local time, brining together representatives from both clubs, the Federation and the Saudi Arabian government.
The FC Barcelona delegation was led by president Joan Laporta, accompanied by first vice president Rafael Yuste, vice president of the Social Area Antonio Escudero and Barça board members Xavier Barbany, Miquel Camps and Sisco Pujol. Also present was member of the Presidential Cabinet, Enric Masip.
On behalf of Real Madrid, present were Emilio Butragueño, with the Spanish Football Federation represented by president Rafael Louzán. The institutional event formed part of build up to the Spanish Super Cup final between Barça and Real Madrid with the first silverware of 2026 at stake.
