KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — 7 AM MONDAY UPDATE
Firefighters now have the massive fire under control that broke out in an abandoned storage facility early Monday morning on Charleston’s West Side. This fire was reported just before 4 am at Virginia St. and 7th Ave.
Firefighters say the building is now structurally unsound, and will have to be demolished. Virginia St and 7th Ave will continue to be closed as firefighters continue to manage the fire, and the demolition takes place.
When firefighters arrived, they say two people were hanging out of the third story windows. They had to put ladders up to the windows to rescue those two people.
They tell us that no injuries have been reported, however, those two have been brought to the hospital.

ORIGINAL STORY
A massive fire broke out in an abandoned industrial facility early Monday morning on Charleston’s West Side. This fire was reported just before 4 am at Virginia St. and 7th Ave.
When firefighters arrived, they say two people were hanging out of the third story windows. They had to put ladders up to the windows to rescue those two people.
Firefighters say there were hardwood floors in the building that were accelerating the fire.
According to the firefighters on the scene, the people rescued should be okay, as they were rescued in time. They tell us that no injuries have been reported, however, those two have been brought to the hospital.
As of right now, Virginia St and 7th Ave is closed.
