CHARLESTON, W.Va . (WSAZ) — Two people have been taken to the hospital following their rescue from a burning building.
The fire broke out just before 4 a.m. Monday at an unoccupied on the corner of Virginia Street West and 7th Avenue.
Crews at the scene tell WSAZ Virginia Street is shut down between Washington Street West and Park Avenue while crews work.
The Charleston Fire Department is at the scene battling the flames, but crews do say the building is a total loss.
The state fire marshal is investigating, and is expected to speak with the two that were rescued from the building.
The condition of the two that were taken to the hospital is not known at this time.
